I am proud to be able to let you know that I have just been appointed as Vice-Chairman of the International Guild of Silk Painters. Thank you very much to those who attended and voted for me.
Annual General Meeting
The Annual General Meeting was today, at which Sue O'Hea (Chair) stepped down after her three-year term of office. Margaret Dunning was appointed as the new Chair, and I was appointed as Vice-Chair. Elitta will continue to manage the website and the Journal, while Tamsen has returned to her post as Membership Secretary. Diane is staying on as Treasurer, and we have a new Secretary called Anethia who went straight in at the deep end minuting the AGM.
I would like to thank Sue O'Hea for her leadership over the past few years, and to wish Mariannne Nash, our previous secretary, a full and speedy recovery.
We also had our first Committee meeting, and are looking forward to working together to publicise the Guild and share our passion for silk painting.

Guild of Silk Painters Festival 2011
You may also be interested to know that the Guild of Silk Painters Festival 2011 will be held on 23rd and 24th July at Wanstead Community Centre, Wanstead House, Wanstead. E11 2NT.
This is being run by our Essex Branch and will be a fantastic opportunity for you to find out more about silk painting, view our exhibitions and take part in workshops and "have a go" sessions. The special Festival website is here: http://www.essexsilkpainters.co.uk/5.html

Pennants for the Olympics 2012
